Patrick Kosuke Kimes

I am currently a principal statistical scientist at Genentech. My interests lie broadly in the development process for therapeutic drugs and medical devices. At Genentech, I split my time between supporting oncology early development and personalized healthcare initiatives.

Before moving to Genentech, I was a postdoctoral research fellow with Rafael Irizarry in data sciences at Dana-Farber and Harvard. I received my PhD in statistics at the University of North Carolina with Professors Yufeng Liu, J.S. Marron, and D. Neil Hayes where I worked on problems in statistical (machine) learning and bioinformatics. Between graduate school and joining the Irizarry lab, I spent two years as a bioinformatician with Roche Diagnostics. My undergraduate degree in mathematics was completed at Pomona College with Professor Jo Hardin.
